This Cookie Policy explains how Arawa PDF uses cookies and similar storage technologies on arawapdf.com (the "Service"), what they do, and how to control them. It is supplementary to our Privacy Policy at /privacy.
A "cookie" is a small text file a website saves in your browser. A related technology called "localStorage" works similarly but stays in the browser until cleared. Together they let a site remember things between visits — like that you're signed in, what language you prefer, or that you've already seen the cookie banner.
Cookies and localStorage are governed by privacy laws in many countries, including the EU ePrivacy Directive, the UK's PECR, GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act. Where consent is required, we ask for it before any non-essential cookie is set.
Strictly necessary — required to make the site work. No consent is needed under most laws because without these the Service can't be delivered.
Functional — remember your preferences (such as language). We ask for consent before setting these.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 cookies that measure anonymous, aggregate site usage. These are set only if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject non-essential" (the default until you choose), no analytics cookies are set and nothing from Google is loaded.
Advertising or tracking — we do not set any advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not share data with ad networks.
The full list. Names that start with "wlp_" are ours (the prefix is left over from an early build name and does not change what the cookie does):
• wlp_session — HTTP cookie. Set after you sign in. Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. Lifetime: 30 days. Purpose: keeps you signed in between page loads. Category: strictly necessary.
• wlp_oauth_state — HTTP cookie. Set briefly when you sign in with Google or Facebook. Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. Lifetime: 10 minutes. Purpose: CSRF protection during the OAuth flow. Category: strictly necessary.
• wlp_locale — HTTP cookie, readable by JavaScript. Lifetime: 1 year. Purpose: remembers your chosen interface language. Category: functional.
• wlp_cookie_consent — localStorage entry, not an HTTP cookie. Lifetime: until you clear it. Purpose: records your cookie-banner choice ("all" or "essential") so the banner doesn't reappear on every page. Category: strictly necessary.
The following are set only if you choose "Accept all". If you reject non-essential cookies, neither is ever created and Google's script is never loaded:
• _ga — Google Analytics cookie. Lifetime: up to 2 years. Purpose: distinguishes one anonymous visitor from another so usage can be counted in aggregate. Set with IP anonymization on. Category: analytics.
• _ga_<STREAM_ID> — Google Analytics cookie (the suffix is our analytics stream ID). Lifetime: up to 2 years. Purpose: maintains the analytics session state. Category: analytics.
We will list any new cookie here before we set it.
By default, none. We do not embed social-media widgets, and no third party loads on the site until you trigger it.
If you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) loads and sets the _ga cookies described in section 4. We initialise it with IP anonymization, and it is used only for anonymous, aggregate usage measurement. If you choose "Reject non-essential", Google's script is never loaded and no _ga cookies are set.
If you actively use a feature that involves a third party, that third party may set cookies during the flow:
• When you complete payment through Stripe (Premium subscription), Stripe sets cookies on the checkout page it serves.
• When you sign in with Google or Facebook, those providers set cookies during their authentication flow.
• These third-party cookies only appear when you actively trigger the relevant feature.
We do not control third-party cookies. Their use is governed by the third party's own policy.
The cookie banner at the bottom of any page lets you:
• Accept all — allow strictly necessary and functional cookies, and load Google Analytics (the _ga cookies in section 4). No advertising cookies are set in any case.
• Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies are set; Google Analytics is not loaded. This is what happens until you make a choice, so analytics stays off by default.
• Manage preferences — opens this Cookie Policy.
To reset your previous choice and see the banner again, clear the wlp_cookie_consent entry from your browser's localStorage (browser DevTools → Application/Storage → Local Storage → arawapdf.com). Clearing it also stops Google Analytics from loading until you accept again.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the Service.
The Service still works. Strictly necessary cookies will still be set (you can't sign in without them). You will need to re-select your language on every visit (functional cookie not stored), but otherwise see the same site and have access to all the same tools.
Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" header or a "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal. We do not use cookies that track you across other websites. The only non-essential cookies we set are the Google Analytics cookies in section 4, and those load only if you choose "Accept all" — so leaving analytics off (or clearing your consent) is the way to opt out. We will respect GPC signals if and when we add any cross-site tracking technology.
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove features. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. If we add a new cookie category that requires consent, the banner will reappear so you can review your choice.
