Three steps. You upload a file (or drop it onto the page), the tool runs, you download the result. Most server-side tools take a few seconds; OCR and AI tools can take longer for big documents. You never need to install anything — everything happens in the browser and on our servers.
No account is needed for the free version of most tools — merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, watermark, etc. An account is required for: Premium-only tools (Summarise, Translate, OCR with high accuracy), the signature inbox / templates, saved business details for invoices, and anything that has to persist across visits.
The latest two stable releases of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile. Older browsers may work but are not actively tested. If a tool seems broken on a fresh browser, that's a bug — please email support.
Interface: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic and Hebrew. Arabic and Hebrew render right-to-left automatically. We are adding more languages over time — your locale preference is remembered between visits if you accept functional cookies.
One hour after processing. A background sweeper runs every few minutes and permanently removes any file whose 1-hour TTL has expired. The same job runs for free and Premium accounts — there is no "keep my files" override. We do not keep backups beyond the TTL.
Yes — encrypted in transit over TLS (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest by the object-storage layer. Even a stolen disk image cannot be read without the key infrastructure. Details of the security model are on the Security page.
Files can be up to 50 MB. AI features have an additional page-count limit (see ai-limits below). If you have a very large file we can't accept, the tool will tell you the exact limit it tripped.
No. Arawa PDF staff cannot read your file contents during normal operation. Files are processed by automated workers; encryption-at-rest keys live in the storage layer, not in any human-readable place. The only outside party that ever sees document text is Anthropic, and only when you click Summarise or Translate.
Nobody, in normal use. We do not embed third-party analytics, ad networks or social widgets. The only outside parties that ever touch your data are Stripe (when you pay — never sees the files themselves), Anthropic (when you click an AI tool — sees extracted text only), and an SMTP provider for verification emails (never sees files). All three are named in the Privacy Policy.
Go to /signup, enter your email and a password. You'll receive a verification email; click the link inside to activate the account. No phone number, no credit card required at sign-up.
Yes — it's free and takes about a minute. Open /user/security, click "Enable 2FA", scan the QR code with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Bitwarden, Authy). After that, signing in requires a code from the app. We do not send 2FA codes over SMS.
Yes. Open /user/billing and click Cancel. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then stops. Cancellation does not automatically issue a refund — see the refund FAQ below.
Full refund within 14 days of any charge — first purchase or renewal, no questions asked. Email support@arawapdf.com from your account address; we refund through Stripe within one business day and the money arrives 5–10 business days later. Full policy on /refund.
Stripe-hosted invoices are listed at /user/invoices, downloadable as PDF. If you need different billing details on the invoice (company name, VAT number, address), set them at /user/business-details — future invoices will use them.
No. The AI tools send extracted document text to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic states API inputs are not used to train its models. The text is processed only to generate the response and is not retained for training. See /blog/how-our-ai-features-work for the full data path.
Currently around 200 pages or 500,000 characters of extracted text per call — whichever comes first. Documents larger than that are summarised by chunking automatically. There's a per-minute and daily rate limit on Premium; if you hit it the tool tells you so.
Most major world languages, including all seven of the interface languages. The model handles a much wider set than the interface picker shows. If you're translating to a language that isn't in the dropdown, contact support and we'll add it.
PDF conversion is never perfectly faithful for complex layouts. We use LibreOffice headless to render Office documents to PDF, which is the same engine many large platforms use. Fonts not installed on the server are substituted; deeply nested tables or unusual macros may shift. If a conversion fails specifically for a file you can share, email support — we look at every report.
OCR uses Tesseract via ocrmypdf and works well on cleanly scanned documents. Handwriting, low-resolution scans (under 200 DPI) and faded faxes are harder. For multilingual documents, set the right language in the tool — that improves accuracy significantly.
Yes. The redaction tool does not just draw a black rectangle on top — that's the common bug in lesser tools, which leaves the text recoverable by copy/paste. Instead, any page you mark is flattened to an image with the black boxes burned in, which destroys the original text and vector objects on that page. The redacted text is gone, not merely covered, and cannot be recovered by copy/paste or a text extractor. Pages you don't redact are left untouched (still selectable and searchable). It all happens in your browser — the file is never uploaded.
It is a simple electronic signature with an audit trail (name, email, IP and timestamp captured per signer). Simple e-signatures are legally binding for most business agreements, NDAs and consent forms in most jurisdictions. They are not a qualified electronic signature (QES) under EU eIDAS, Pakistan's Electronic Transactions Ordinance, or other regimes that require accredited certificate-based signatures. For those, use a Qualified Trust Service Provider.
We keep the envelope and audit log only as long as you keep them in your account. The signed PDF itself is removed from our storage on the same 1-hour TTL as every other file. Download the signed document before the window expires if you want a long-term copy.
